Pazhashi was a prince of the Kottayam Princely state of this time Kerala. At the time of the Tippu Sulthan's invasion to Kerala Pazhashi had fought against him with the East India Company army. Together they defeated Tippu Sulthan but the company did not kept their word. They began to conquer the states of Kerala and imposed high revenue and taxes on the people of the country. The farmers began committing suicide as they were not able to pay the revenue. This is the base line of the story. When the movie starts it shows a meeting of the Company officials with the representatives of the kings to increase the taxes further to meet the administrative needs of the nation. The meeting ends with a decision that the kings should collect revenue and hand over to the British as early as possible or they will capture the kingdoms of them. The Prince Pazhashi becomes angry due to the unfaithfulness of the British and asks the people not to pay taxes. By doing this he became the enemy of the company and the company army marched to his palace. They looted the palace of Pazhashi raja when he was not there and captured the palace. Pazhashi took his shelter in the Jungles of Wayanad and stated gathering trops to fight the British. There he gets the support of tribal people whose leader was Thalaykkal Chandu. Pazhashi with his generals starts guerrilla warfare with the British company and the company suffers a lot of losses due to it. British understood it was not easy to fight pazhashi in the jungles and comes with a peace treaty.Pazhashi agreed with the treaty to bring peace in the nation but the British did not fulfill the promises they made in the treaty. So he starts the war again. At this time company appoints assistant collector Baber to catch Pazhashi, but when travelling thorough the jungle he get caught by the men of Pazhashi raja. But the moral ethics of the raja is seen when he treated the unarmed enemies as guests and allowed them to leave. Using the methods of cheating the tribal leader Thalackal Chandu was captured by the Bitish and they hanged him.Pazhashi captured the fort of British and hanged the major of the army in revenge of this. Then the true war started. The Pazhashi's army could not defeat the British army with the guns. The commander of army Ambu is killed in the war and Kunkan commits suicide when surrounded by the army. At Last Pazashi and his small number of remaining soldiers went to fight the war with the huge army of the British. Many people tried to discourage pazhashi but he says " The only thing left to me to do is to write with my blood that the nation is ours." Pazhashi ws shot dead by the British. The Assistant collector Baber takes the body in his Palaquin and the whole British army satutes the great warrior. In the whole it is a great film which fills the mind with patriotism. It is mainly a war film filmed with perfection in par with the Hollywood films.Each actors have played their part well and made the movie beautiful. The acting style of Mammotty provides life to the great Pazhashi Raja. Sarath Kumar has done well in action scenes with perfect style. Crew The film is directed by the veteran director Hariharan and produced by Sree Gokulam movies. The script is by M.T Vasudevan Nair, the famous script writer and novelist. The strong dialogues written by him in the movie will leave a mark in the mind of audiences. The sound is by Oscar winner Rasool Pookkutty. He has done a great job in the film. The sounds in the war scenes gives us a realistic experience. Music is by famous music director Ilaya Raja By this all we can conclude that it is a great film by great crew .
