London Dreams
|
I happened to see the movie "London Dreams" on last Saturday. The movie has a good star cast with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan coming back together after their successful association in "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam". The movie is based on music, friendship, romance, ambition, betrayal, jealousy, etc. It is a total masala film. Ajay Devgan is a ambitious guy whose sole aim in life is to become a popular singer, especially to sing to a packed audience at the Wembley stadium in London. He forms his own musical band "London Dreams" for the same. This band starts off with a bang. Soon, Ajay Devgan comes back to India to meet his childhood friend Salman (who has even more musical talent than Ajay, but spends time roaming around and having fun). He gets Salman to London and soon makes him a part of his band. Asin is the common love interest of both the lead actors and she also is a part of the same band. The first half of the movie is fast paced even though there are 1-2 songs too many. Also, not all the songs are good. In fact, only 3 songs are good. The song "Barso Re" is a rock song and the stage performance for this song is quiet good. Especially the last part, where we hear the "Hanuman Chalisa" gives us goosebumps. The climax of the movie is a big letdown. Otherwise, the movie is good to watch. Salman Khan stands out with his superlative performance and it is because of him that the movie has few good humourous moments. Asin is good and so is Ajay Devgan. The music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is decent, but it should have been better considering that music is the central theme for this movie. Overall, I had a good time watching this movie with my family.
