NOKIA’S First Linux Phone the N900

Nokia has now announced its first phone running on Linux software. It is built around company’s Linux based Maemo operating system (Maemo5). It is given the name N900.
It is a smart phone with new technology.

It provides to open and use a dozens of application windows simultaneously while taking full advantage of cellular features.
This phone is equipped with Touch screen and QWERTY key board.

According to Nokia the N900 has evolved from Nokia’s previous generation of internet tablets.

Processor:
This smart phone of Nokia is developed around and controlled by Powerful ARM Cortex A8 processor .

Memory :
N900 has application memory of 1 GB for handling smart phone applications. There is inbuilt memory of 32GB which is expandable up to 48GB with the use of MicroSD card.

Graphics Card:
It has 3D graphics accelerator card with OpenGLES 2.0 support.


This new Nokia smart phone is PC like multitasking system allowing many applications to run simultaneously. All the running content is constantly available through the dashboard. Also switching between the applications is simple.
