Srisailam is located in the Nallamala Hills of Kurnool district. This place is famous for the Lord Mallikarjuna swamy and Bramarambha devi temple. It is one among the Jyothirlingams in India.
The lord Mallikarjuna swamy is called as mallana by his devoties and he is very powerful. You can fulfill all your wishes by doing Kumkuma puja to bramarambhadevi. The special thing about this temple is that unlike all other shiva temples in this temple you will be allowed to enter the garbha gudi and touch the lingam of lord Shiva.
The people who come to this place really feel elated and overjoyed with the beauty of the place, as it is a hilly area it fascinates tourists alot.

Other places which you can see around are:

SAKSHI GANAPATHI TEMPLE:Ganesh temple is called so because it is believed that ganesh will be the sakshi for your visit to srisailam

PALADHARA PANCHADARA

HATAKHESWARA SWAMY TEMPLE

SIKHARA DARSHANAM,SHIKARESWARASWAMY TEMPLE:In this place you can see nandhi on the top of the temple which is around 8km distant from srisaila devastanam of shiva. It is believed if you can see the sikharam of the gopuram from here you will die in 7 days, with no rebirth. The same happened to Jawaharlal Nehru and Vangaveeti mohana ranga

DISTANCE:It is around 232km to the south of hyderabad. You can travel by road which is the best way.You can enjoy the forest on the two sides of the road.

Good description. I want to add these few points.

Srisailam is not only one among the dwadasa jyothirlingas but also one among the astadasa sakthipeethas also.

This is a rare distinction for this place.

As far as my knowledge goes Sivalingam in many temple can be touched by us if we go for darshan with empty stomach.

Thanks for your response DRR sir.In all the sivalayams I went I am not allowed to touch the Shiva lingam thats why I thought that in all temples they won't allow to do so.
