English translation of vande mataram,I dont find any anti islam, Mother, I bow to thee Rich with thy hurrying stream Bright with orchard gleams cool with thy winds of delight dark fields waving mother of might mother free.
glory of moonlight dreams, over thy branches and lordly streams, clad in thy blossoming trees, mother giver of ease, laughing low and sweet, mother I kiss thy feet, speaker sweet and low, Mother to thee I bow.

Its right Vande mataram is the shadow to the world briefing the world about our country's unity in diversity and our faith in secularism.Maybe some islamic units that may some soft corner to pakisthan and may dislike our unity and that would have persuaded them to speak so.But in my opinion, every true islam follower of India would not fail from his or her duty in respecting their motherland

It is most unfortunate that we do not have any Indians living in India. We are Tamils, Bengalis, Gujaratis, Marathis, etc and also we are Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists etc. We are everything but Indians. The thought that we are Indians first has never occurred to us. We claim to be united, but actually we are not. We always separate ourselves as belonging to certain states, religions, castes. The present dispute is another of those sad affairs. When millions of our own countrymen, our brothers and sisters, are suffering from illiteracy, malnutrition, lack of basic infrastructure like a glass of clean drinking water, a square meal, etc we are misguided to raise our voice against our National song ! This is preposterous.
The song in question was taken from Bankimchandra's Bengali novel, "Ananadamath". General theme is a patriotic movement for freedom against the British-Raj. True, that the movement was led by “ Hindu Sanyasi”s (based on the historical Sanyasi Rebellion of 1700). But that cannot be interpreted as anti-Islam even with wildest imagination, as the fight was against the British. There is a paragraphs in the song where he wrote "you are the strength in our arms, O Mother/you are the devoutness in our heart/we build your images in our temples....." This part has not been selected in our national song (although it is certainly not anti-Islam). Still some of our fellow-countrymen seem to have some reason to object. It is really sad.
