NID Admission 2010 – 2011


National Institute of Design is nationally and internationally acclaimed as one of the finest educational and research institutions for Industrial. Communication, Textile and IT Integrated (Experiential) Design. The Institute offers Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) and Post-Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (PGDPD) in its three campuses.

GDPD | Graduate Diploma Programme in Design:
Candidates who have passed or who will appear in March 2010 for qualifying examinations under Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalents like AISSCE/ICSE, etc are eligible for GDPD. Upper age limit for candidates is 20 years (relax able by 3 years for reserved categories) as on June01, 2010.

PGDPD | Post-Graduate Diploma Programme in Design:
Candidates having a Bachelors degree or equivalent (including those who will be appearing for the qualifying examinations during the academic year 2009-10) are eligible for the separate test for PGDPD. (Please refer to the eligibility criteria given for the specific disciplines on website / admission brochure) Upper age but for candidates is27 years (relax able by3 years for reserved categories) as on June 01.2010. Those applying for more than one programme should in separate application forms One cannot apply for more than two PG programmes

Request forms
Forms can be obtained from Academic Office, NID Ahmadabad directly by sending a Demand Draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favor of ‘National Institute of Design’ payable at Ahmadabad for Rs 1500 (Rs 750- for reserved categories — SC/ ST/PH/OBC — who should also send in a copy of the relevant document from competent authority) and a self-addressed envelope of 9×12 size with Rs 4W- stamps affixed. Mark your envelope MID ‘ADMISSIONS 2010’.

Forms can also be obtained from select branches of Bank of India (listed below) on payment of R 1500- towards the cost of the form plus Rs 50/. as bank charges. (Forms at concessional rates to reserved categories are available directly from MID. Ahmadabad.)

Last date for receiving completed forms at NID October 31. 2009
Test for GDPD January 10, 2010
Test for PGDPD January 9, 2010
