FCT - 2008 National Workshop on Fuel Cell Technology and Professional Development Course

The event
Professional Development Course on Fuel Cell Technology: 18 - 21 February 2008
National Workshop on Fuel Cell Technology: 22 February 2008

Venue :

The SRM University is part ofthe 3S year old SRM Group of Educational Institutions, sponsored by the Valliammai Society. The Valliammai Societywas founded byThiru.T. R.Pachamuthu, a well-known educationalist, in the name of his mother Tmt.R.Valliammai, under whose care and guidance he attained greater heights in his personal development and whose ideals continue to inspire him. The year 1985 saw the birth of the S.R.M. Engineering College, one of the most prestigious Institutions in Engineering and Technology and also the flagship Institution of the group, encompassing all disciplines of Technical Education.

Fuel Cell
Whereas the 19th Century was the century of the steam engine and the 20th Century was the century of the internal combustion engine. It is likely that the 21" Century will be the century of the fuel cell.

Fuel cells are now on the verge of being introduced commercially, revolutionizing the way we presently produce power. Increased numbers of people from disciplines ranging from chemistry through engineering to strategic analysis, not familiar with fuel technology, have become involved. The need by such people for a single, comprehensive and updated exposition of technology and its applications has become important and is covered in this National Workshop on Fuel Cell Technologyand Professional Development Course.

Plan :

Professional Development Course on Fuel Cell Technology: 18-21 February 2008
National Workshop on Fuel Cell Technology: 22 February 2008

Objective :

To train the faculty of engineering institutions in the area of fuel cell technology. This would culminate in the knowledge transfer to the engineering students. Further more the programme is expected to motivate the faculty to enter into the rich research areas on fuel cell technology
To impart advanced knowledge of fuel cell technology to practicing engineers, scientists from industries and research organizations
