ABOUT THE SEMINAR :
India is poised to become a major player in the International biotechnology industry and biotech could well become the next big Indian success story globally after IT. However, student’s knowledge on available opportunities and challenges in life science industries are very limited. The biotech sector being a knowledge intensive sector requires highly skilled manpower and the value for highly skilled manpower is at a premium. The objective of this seminar is to give career guidance for the students who pursue degree in life science. Featuring biotech industry team leaders as student team mentors, providing you with first hand experience into the industry. This program aims to provide opportunities for students to network with the scientists. The scientists will provide professional experience and objective advice regarding the development of career materials and skills. The students can interact with their mentors on a variety of areas and clarify their doubts and get advice on specific questions related to biotechnology and career. The mentor program is chaired by Dr. Balumuri Padmavathi, PhD, Scientist, Invitrogen Corporation, Bangalore. This program is a day long program and students can interact with scientist anytime during the seminar day.
