Sensitization Workshop on Capacity Building of Women Managers in Higher Education
Coinciding with the Diamond Jubilee year of Gauhati University and as part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations, the department of English Language Teaching is pleased to announce a UGC sponsored Sensitization Workshop on Capacity Building of Women Managers in Higher Education from 12th to 16th of February 2008. The workshop will be residential and will accommodate 30 participants in all. This event is a first step towards raising gender equity in management of our institutions and to have competent women to improve the quality of management in higher education.
The department invites women academicians or administrators who are in the middle or higher level positions in universities of the Northeast, including principals and department staff in colleges.
In addition to academic sessions and panel discussions, participants will have opportunities for networking on an informal level at the venue, which offers a spectacular view of the river Brahmaputra. It is hoped the interaction will offer participants a chance to make new contacts, catch up with existing teaching practices, share information and gather new insights and ideas to implement in their own contexts.
Interested persons would need to send in their applications by 31st January, 2008, in the format which can be downloaded from the website, by e-mail as well as by post. In case there’s a difficulty in downloading the application form, plain paper applications will also be accepted.
