SHORT TERM COURSE ON RECENT TRENDS IN GRID COMPUTING March 3rd -15th , 2008

Objective :
The main objective of the course is to portray the recent trends in the field of Grid computing. The workshop is intended to provide opportunity for teachers handling MCA employed in AICTE approved institutions to upgrade their knowledge in upcoming areas like Grid Computing.
Course Outline :
Grid computing has emerged as one of the key computing paradigms that enable the creation and management of Internet-based utility computing infrastructure, for realization of e-Science and e-Business at the global level. Also it provides a platform for the discussion of open problems in the context of grid computing to enhance research activities.
The workshop includes discussions focused on the following topics:
• Service Oriented Architecture • XML and Web services • Grid computing Architecture and Standards • Virtualization Techniques in Grid. • Grid middleware – Globus Toolkit, gLite.
