Aim
Supply Chain Management in recent years has emerged as an all-pervasive management philosophy for transformation of an organization into a world-class one. It has become the mantra for practicing managers as it possesses unlimited potential for cutting costs and improving efficiency along the whole value chain. The complexity of the supply chain problems unleashes such challenges to the academicians and the practitioners for developing newer solution approaches to the problems involving people from diverse areas like operations management, finance and accounting, strategic management, human resource management, relationship management, information technology, computer science, behavioral science and logistics management. The collaboration, co-ordination and interaction of professionals from these diverse backgrounds will usher in a new era of supply chain management, thereby taking the development of this subject to its zenith.
The implementation of supply chain management concepts generally places high demand on IT professionals to develop high end software with a view to delivering value to the final customers. Keeping this in mind, the conference also plans to bring the software developers together with the academicians and the practitioners to a common platform wherein the confluence of philosophy, ideas, experiences and the latest developments is expected to take place.
