, New Delhi Review

I went to Punjabi by nature for dinner with colleagues and with my wife as well. The name is interesting as well so this is my favorite hangout place and its really cool and attracted. I have living here for many years and myself grew up in Delhi I visited many times to Punjabi by nature restaurant and have experienced good food from various parts of Punjab.

We all got seated after reaching there and the place was about half full at the time (we didnt reserve in advance) even we got seats. After about a 15 minutes wait their waiter showed up and we ordered an appetizer and some drinks. It was chicken dish baked with potatoes. The portion was huge but we were many thats why there was no problem with size of pieces and really tasty and now I was starting to feel yes this place is indeed Punjabi at heart and after while finishing our starters and drinks we were talking about this restro and we felt it is really by nature and I could not wait for the dinner.

We ordered dinner based on their people recommendations. Our dinner consisted of Kadai, Chicken, Rogan josh (Mutton), Chicken curry and in veg., Chana Masala and Malai Kofta, which are the favorite dishes of Punjabi. We ordered only one naan and some mixed parathe.

The portions were large but lacked quality and the Punjabi taste (a good tadka). Kadai Chicken, Chana Masala lacked masala but like liked less masala and almost seemed like out of the can chick peas. Malai Kofta was just bland and had no flavor but vegetarian guys liked this one. Naan was huge as well but very chewy. The servers never returned to ask about food or drink refills either and they were busy chatting in the corner.

One other thing I noticed was there was a group of really guys and they were being served alcohol when clearly they were teenagers and I never mind that they were taking alcohol and as they grow and will understand whether they should take drinks or not.

The Punjabi in me whose expectations were heightened by the appetizer was really not upto expectation but overall it was good experience. The food was somewhat like Punjabi by nature but but these kind of taste you can find in every North Indian restaurants.

The parking was not very spacious but and it was alright and you can get wallet and street parking facility.

There are many restaurant in this market like Friday - Mexican fast food, MB’S Restaurant, Arabian Nites (Lebanese), McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Sartoria (Italian, Pizza), Turquoise Cottage (Chinese, Thai, Japanese), New Delhi Zaika (Indian).
