I don't think one single party will win the 2009 Loksabha Elections. The INC is likely to win between 185-210 seats and it will have to form the Govt. with its allies. The next biggest national party, the BJP, is unlikely to win more than 130 seats. Statewise, I think regional parties and independent candidates are really going to shake up the ruling party in a number of States. In fact, I won't be surprised if a State's ruling party gets overthrown by a regional party.

i think BJP and its alliance NDA will come to power this year. as wave is there in favor of Advaniji. Moreover, failures of UPA govt. are there in front of the people like Highest inflation ever Mumbai Terror Attacks Jobs Recession Shortage of Electricity
Moreover condition is very bad in Congress ruled states like Haryana.
BJP is doing fairly well in states like Gujarat, Bihar, Karnataka, MP and others.
Moreover in UP Mulayam and MAyawati have separated them from Congress. It will give edge to BJP. In Tamil Nadu, PMK alliance will AIADMK will affect Congress. In Bihar Nitishji's image is very good. It has done fairly well his duty. In Haryana INLD and BJP together will give hard compitition to Congress. Moreover HJC will cut Congress votes.
So, I think BJP has an edge over Congress in this Lok Sabha elections

Hi I am Sandeep Tiwari from Kolkata.According to me the Congress and its allies are again going to win loksabha election 2009.The total seats for Congress lead U.P.A. would be around 350.

| Author: Raghuram 07 Apr 2009 | Member Level: Bronze | Rating: Points: 6 |
as there is clearly a anti-congress wave in the country because of its policies in the last 5 yrs and price rise, inflation, terrorism increase etc... so upa would lose the battle and may gain around 100 to 120 seats by congress alone and 30 to 40 seats by its allies
at the same time even though there is not a clear bjp wave it has an edge as it is the main opposition and it may win around 190 to 210 seats and 40 to 50 seats by its allies
the third front is full of oppurtunistic leaders like mayawati, deve gowda, communists, jayalalitha etc.. and they won't be united after the poll results and now itself mayawati has ditched the third front
the fourth front consisting of upa allies sp+rjd+ljp may get around 30 seats
and finally others who are not associated to any fronts at now may get around 20 to 30 seats
then some parties will support BJP for its shortage of 20 to 30 seats
so chances of BJP forming next government is very much high
and advani will be the next PM of India

Hi every one,
As far as my knowledge is concern at present the condition is a bit different because the local parties are playing a vital role. So,its becoming very tough for any single party to win all the seats. So,what happens here is there must be an alliance to form the government. As per the news papers and television surveys we are getting confused because one paper or T.V channel gives the result accordingly in the favour of the party which they support. So,its very difficult to guess the upcoming government by basing on the surveys.
I think Congress and its alliances are having the scope to win the battle and that to not in a huge seats but a narrow gap of seats.
Jai Hind, Deepu

Hi every body on this Community.
None of the existing alliances would be able form a government on their own. The coalition constituents would need to re-align to be able to reach the magic figure of 272. According to the survey done in the period between March 26 and April 3, UPA is likely to get 203 seats, NDA 191 seats, Third Front 104 seats, Fourth Front 39 seats and Others 6 seats.
In the first opinion poll it was predicted that UPA would lead with 257 seats in alliance with SP, RJD, LJP; while NDA had 184 seats, the Third Front was predicted to have 96 seats and 6 seats were likely to go to others.
The second opinion poll predicts more than 155 seats for the Congress against 144 seats for the party in the first opinion poll. The predicted number of seats for the BJP too have increased to 147. Similarly, the number of seats for the JD(U) has also gone up to 22 and for the BSP to 26.
The parties which are predicted to lose seats, as compared to the first opinion poll are SP, DMK, RJD, LJP, Shiv Sena, RLD, AGP, and JD(S). SP comes down to 28 from 30 seats, with RJD down to 6 from 11 predicted in the first opinion poll. The Shiv Sena is now likely to get 9 seats, AGP to get 4, RLD to get 3 and JD(S) is likely to get just 2 seats.
UPA: 203 seats
Congress- 155 DMK- 15 Trinamool Congress- 13 NCP- 11 JMM- 2 National Conference- 2 MUL- 2 AIMIM- 1 KEC(M)- 1 RPI (A)- 1
NDA-191 seats
BJP- 147 JD(U)- 22 Shiv Sena- 9 Akali Dal- 5 AGP- 4 RLD- 3 INLD-1
Third Front- 104 seats
BSP- 26 CPM- 25 TDP-13 BJD-9 AIADMK-9 CPI- 4 PMK- 4 Forward Bloc- 3 RSP- 3 TRS- 3 JD(S)- 2 KEC- 1 AUDF- 1 HJC- 1
Fourth Front- 39 seats
SP- 28 RJD- 6 LJSP- 4 Praja Rajyam-1
Others: 5 seats
Total number of seats: 543

I think congress and its alliance will win this time, because they are very strong throughout the country. Also they have joined hands with TMC (Trinamul Congress). Mamtha Benerjee in West Bengal and the prediction of seat they win is around 285.... DMK in Tamil Nadu as they have support from the congress it seems.

Hi RajmiArun,
I joined today this community.
I feel that this community have the question. The guess was that which party or its alliance will win this general election and with how many number of seats.
And also there was that who will get the closest number of prediction, will win the prize here.
As I see all entries here, I found that "razzaqlucky" is right. He is the close prediction for alliance and its number.
So I am wondering that still the prize is not announced.
Thanks

Hi RajmiArun,
As we know Congress and its alliance (UPA) secured 262 seats.
From this forum, the first closest prediction is given by
1. razzaqlucky - UPA (258)
The second and subsequent close prediction are by,
2. Its me - Congress and its alliance - 245
3. Prasanta Congress and its alliance - 284 4. Mohd Munnawar - Congress and its alliance - 285 5. Deepz - Congress and its alliance - 285
If we look party wise, Ashish predicted the closest number and his prediction was that congress will get 210 and the actually congress get 206. He failed to predict of BJP (195). Also he made that no party will get majority. So I in doubt about that he could predicted as he said. If you consider his for individual party, then he is eligible for party number.
If any one here is close which I mentioned then please write back. I may be wrong.
Thanks.
