About Anna University Chennai

Anna University is one of the best universities of Tamil Nadu, India. The university is located in Chennai Anna University was formed on 4th September 1978 with the name 'Perarignar Anna University of Technology'. The current name was adopted in the year 1982. In the end of 2001, Anna University was converted into affiliating university as most of the engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu were affiliated to it. "Progress through Knowledge" is the motto of the university.

It offers wide variety of graduate, masters and doctoral programmes in all the fields of studies to the students. Anna University admission notification releases in the month of July/August.
