    Nirmal is a municipal town and a mandal headquarters in the Adilabad district of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Nirmal is also the administrative headquarters of the doistrict of Adilabad.

    Nirmal is located at 19.1°N 78.35°E? and has an average elevation of 340 metres, while being surrounded by 8 lakes. This area is also very close to Andhra , Maharastra border. Nirmal has a population of 75,017 and has the average literacy rate at 65% slightly above the average literacy rate of India at 59.5%, as per the census details of 2001.

    Painting and wooden toys of Nirmal town is famous all over, in which an array of expressions is portrayed in myriad colours and forms of the rustic ethos and the rural environment. These toys are known in their town's name that is Nirmal Painting and Wooden Toys.

    Nirmal is an assembly constituency ,a segment f the Adilabad lok Sabha Constituency. P. Ganga Reddy, Aindla Bheema Reddy, Samundrala Venugopala Chary, Nalla Indrakaran Reddy, Allola Indrakaran Reddy and Alleti Maheswara Reddy were the members earlier elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from this constituency.
