    About Mumbai City

    Mumbai City is a division of Konkan in the Maharashtra state. This city is one of the greatest well known cities in the world. It is popular metropolitan city of Maharashtra. This city is surrounded by many islands and that's why it is also popularly known as the “City of the Islands". This city covers an area of about 67.7 sq km. The city of Mumbai was ruled by many rulers. It is known worldwide as the “Bollywood Industry" of India. The economic importance of Mumbai is very high because of its commercial value. This city has given popularity to many rising stars of our Bollywood industry.

    Climate

    The climate of Mumbai is interesting just as like any riddle or a puzzle. The climate is usually remains dry but in the month of July the climate becomes very wet or we can say that the weather is tropical wet and dry in Mumbai. The arrival of monsoon in July makes the whole city to literally bathe in rain.

    Transport

    The transport system in Mumbai is widely categorized into four main categories-
    Rail- The railway system of Mumbai is like the skeleton of transport system of this city. Indian railways system had connected all the cities to one another which has made the transport system more reliable and easier.
    Road- There are lots of national highways and national expressways which are served by the road system of Mumbai. The Mumbai-Pune Expressways is the good example of road system of Mumbai.
    Air- The Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus is one of the second busiest airports in India. This airport handles about 30.74 million passengers annually. It is the world's second busiest International airports.

    Places to visit

    Gothic Revival and Indo-Saracenic are the good examples of architecture of Mumbai. Sites like Gateway of India and various landmarks like Marine Drive and west of the Oval Maidan are popular tourists attractions to visit in Mumbai.
