Ranbir Singh Chaudhari of the Indian National Congress, Lahri Singh of Jan Sangh, Sher Singh of Janata Party, Indrevesh Swami of Janata Party(S, Hardwari Lal of Indian National Congress, Chaudari Devilal of Samajwadi janata party, Bhupinder Singh Hooda of Indian National Congress, Captain Inder singh of Indian National Lok Dal and Deepender singh Hooda of Indian National Congress were the earlier elected members of ththe rohtak Lok Sabha Constituency. Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda is the Chief minister of Haryana and except for once has been holding the seat for 4 times. this is the main reason for the recent development in the Rohtak district. This seat can be considered as a Indian National Congress fort He won the three general elections defeating none other than Devilal, another jat leader of Haryana in1991,1996 and 1998 elections. In the 2001 elections Bhupinder Singh Hooda lost to captain Inder singh of the Indian National LokDal candidate. and again in 2004 general elections he won the seat and cameback to the parliament for one year. In the 2005 general elections he gave the seat up to his Son Deepender singh Hooda who also won and is the present incumbent of the Parliament. Election result of 2009 The final verdict of the public was strongly in favor of the young candidate of Indian National Congress and Deepender Singh Hooda made a record by winning with a margin of about 4.7 lakhs votes defeating his nearest rival Nafe Singh Rathi of Indian National Lok Dal.
