National Institute of Science & TechnologyI am currently a M.Tech (Computer Science and Engineering, Batch: 2012-14) student at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (formerly University College of Engineering), Burla, India.
I was a B.Tech student at National Institute of Science & Technology (NIST), Berhampur, India during the academic year 2008-12 in Information Technology.
Let me give you some technical details regarding NIST. NIST was not only built to create engineering minds but also to make them capable to fight against Global Challenges.
The institute is affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, India and all the courses are approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The B.Tech courses are opened in the branches
1. Computer Science and Engineering
2. Information Technology
3. Electronics and Communication Engineering
4. Electrical Engineering
5. Electrical and Electronics Engineering
6. Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering
7. Mechanical Engineering etc.
The M.tech courses are opened in the following branches

NIST is enriched with faculties with educational qualification from IITs, NITs, JU, CU, and many top engineering colleges. The college is Ranked-1 engineering in the BPUT (Ranked by BputstudentAssociation, 2008).
NIST provides excellent summer trainings in VLSI & EDA Tools, Oracle, SAP and also provides Summer Research Internship Program with stipend.
College is well furnished with modern labs and hostels for both Boys and Girls.
This is the only institute in Odisha with TIFAC-CORE set up for 3G/4G communication. Various center of excellence such as Cadence, IBM are also set up for academic improvement of students.
NIST is mainly famous for Research and Placement of students of Engineering and Management.
