Admission procedure
The selection to B.Tech courses in Government Engineering college,Palakkad is based on the merit/rank obtained in the Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Kerala. There are 63 seats available in each disciplines of B.Tech course. In addition to this, there are 6 vacancies in third semester which is reserved for diploma holders through lateral entry scheme. Admission to M.Tech Programmes are based on the rank in the GATE conducted by IITs and IISc. There are 18 seats for M.Tech programme.
Fee Structure
The tuition fee for B.Tech course is Rs. 4000/- and total fee is around Rs. 6200 (including exam fee). The fee should be remitted as a single instalment at the beginning of each academic year.
Facilities
A group of 65 dedicated & experienced academic staff work in GECSKP. The college has a library with more than 12000 books. In addition to this, a number of journals and periodicals are available in the library for reading. The library functions from 10am to 5pm on all working days including saturday. A student union, Anti ragging squad, & a Placement cell are functioning here. The placement cell provides guidance for higher studies and career & placement help for the members. One of the special feature which makes Government Engineering college, Palakkad different from other colleges is the Nature club functioning here.

The 33 acres campus is situated in Sreekrishnapuram which is in the Palakkad district of Kerala. The place is at a distance of 29km from Ottappalam, 34 km from Palakkad & 35 km from Shoranur. The nearest airport is Kochi(Nedumbassery).
