About Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped
The institute offers manpower development for the welfare of people with speech problems and hearing problems. These two being inter-related, the courses offered are on speech and hearing sciences. The courses offered are of various levels - Diploma, Under-graduate programs, post-graduate programs, and also Ph.D. They also offer B.Ed program, i.e, to train as teachers who will be teaching hearing impaired childred, and M.Ed, in the same field. There is a diploma in Speech and Hearing sciences which qualifies a person to assist speech and hearing professionals. The institute has its regional centers in other states of India, where it offers the courses under the regional universities. The scope ranges from private set up, hospitals, hearing aid dispensing, and a lot more for the qualified persons.
