About Birla College of Arts Science & Commerce
Birla College, established in 1972 by Kalyan Charity Trust and Kalyan Citizens` Education Society and affiliated to the University of Mumbai is a multi-faculty institution of higher education with more than 8,500 students. The college campus is spread over 20 acres in Kalyan City, 54 kms from Mumbai.
The college has been accredited with a Five Star Status by The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore in 2002. The College has now been Reaccreditated with a CGPA of 3.37 on four point scale ''A'' Grade, in April 2008.
Recently the UGC has identified the college under the scheme "College with Potential for Excellence" (CPE) during phase 3rd (March-2010). The college has been awarded the "Best College Award" in the Urban category, by the University of Mumbai for the year 2008-2009.
Birla College of Arts,Science and Commerce has started a UGC sponsored Certificate Course in Foreign Languages in 2011 after a very long effort by Dr.Sangeeta Sharma (Department of English). The languages which are introduced in the course is French,German and Japanese. The course is running successfully with the help of well qualified visiting faculity.
