About Agronomic Research Station Chalakudy
The Agronomic Research Station was started by the Department of Agriculture, Kerala in the year 1972 and which became fully functional in 1974 after getting ICAR sponsored projects. This institute mainly focuses on the various cropping systems for rice and related water management. After research and verification processes, it has developed many effective and low-cost water management systems for different crops including sweet potato, groundnut, cowpea, sesame, ash gourd, coconut, etc.
