Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray Polytechnic is a very well-known polytechnic of Kolkata and West Bengal. It was established in 1950 and started functioning as a polytechnic in 1962. It is affiliated to West Bengal Council of Technical Education (WBCTE). The polytechnic has been named after famous scientist and professor of Chemistry, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray.

Admission procedureAdmission to three year Diploma in Food Processing Technology, Computer Science & Technology Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil engineering is done through JEXPO examination conducted by WBCTE every year.
