About Cooch Behar Polytechnic
Cooch Behar Polytechnic is a polytechnic located at Cooch Behar town of West Bengal. It was established in 1994 by the State Government of West Bengal. The polytechnic caters to the need of the students in respect of technical education at Diploma level.
Courses offered The courses offered by the polytechnic are indicated below.
Course recognition All the above courses are recognised by AICTE and WBSCTE. Diploma Course in Pharmacy is approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
Admission procedure Admission to three year Diploma is done through JEXPO examination conducted by WBCTE every year. In addition, there is provision for lateral admission for ITI-qualified students. Admission in two year Diploma in Pharmacy is based on marks obtained in X+II examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Other facilities The college has modern facilities of laboratories, modern workshops in every department, foundries, library and canteen within the premises. 24x7 wi-fi facilitiy is available for the students within the campus.
Placement cell Placement cell of Cooch Behar Polytechnic is active. It primarily works as a liaison between industry and the institute. Every year students of this Institute are recruited by various public sector and private sector companies. Many students of the polytechnic join Indian Railways. The Pharmacy students are recruited by Pharmaceutical companies and in the R&D Department, Production Department and also as Medical Representatives. Students of Automobile Engineering open their own business, mainly in North Bengal.
