Central Calcutta Polytechnic is a very reputed polytechnic institute located at Kolkata in West Bengal. It was established in 1963 and taken over by the State Government of West Bengal in 1974. It is affiliated to West Bengal Council of Technical Education (WBCTE). The polytechnic is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Courses offered The courses offered by the polytechnic and the maximum intake in each course are indicated below:-
Mechanical Engineering: 60
Electrical Engineering: 60
Computer Science & Technology: 60
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering: 30
Post Diploma in Medical Electronics: 15
Mechanical Engineering (part-time): 60
Electrical Engineering (part-time): 60
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (part-time): 40
All the above courses are recognised by AICTE and WBSCTE.
Admission procedure Admission to three year Diploma is done through JEXPO examination conducted by WBCTE every year.
Other facilities The college has modern facilities of Laboratory, Computer Laboratory, Model Display Room, Library and Canteen within the premises.
Placement cell Placement cell of Central Calcutta Polytechnic is very active. Every year students of this Institute are recruited by various public sector & private sector companies, hospitals and companies manufacturing medical equipment. The ex-students of this Institute have established themselves across the whole country and some are also working in many of the foreign countries. They help in the recruitment process of present students.
