About Government Engineering College
Government Engineering College Kozhikode is one of the nine engineering colleges run by Government of Kerala. GECK was established in the year 1999. The campus is located in a place named West Hill which is about 5 km from Kozhikode town.

Admission
The candidates seeking admission for B.Tech in GECK should have passed Higher secondary Examination with min. 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics put together. The admission is based on the Rank obtained in the Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Kerala. Lateral entry to the third semester of B.Tech is possible for diploma holders with 60% marks provided they qualify the entrance examination for lateral entry scheme by the State Government. The admission through lateral entry scheme will be completed before May 31st.

Each department of the college has fully equipped laboratories. There is a group of well qualified & efficient faculties under each department who are capable of imparting quality education to the students.The colleges has an extensive library with a wide range of books & journals.
Activities in GECK
There is a Career Guidance & Placement Cell functions in the college. The cell identify the demand of the industry and make its members capable of meeting this demand. CGPC regularly conducts aptitude tests, Group discussions and also arranges seminars by eminent personalities from the industry. The college organises extra curricular programmes during academic year which help the students develop their talents and skills. The Physical education department provides coaching for Shuttle badminton, Foot ball, Table tennis, Cricket etc. Teams from the college participate in various events under the University level and have won many prizes.
How to reach
The college is connected to Kozhikode town by road. The kozhikode private stand is 4 km and the Railway Station 5km from the campus.
The nearest airport is Kozhikode Airport, which is about 30 kms from the college campus.
