About Gomathi Ambal Polytechnic College
Gomathi Ambal Polytechnic College (GAPC) was started in the year 1984 and is managed by Tamil Thai Charitable Trust. It is a co-educational institution and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai. It is one of the prestigious polytechnic colleges in Tirunelveli. The college has also received an ISO 9001: 2008 certificate.
AcademicsThe college is offering diploma education to the students under 6 departments- Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering and Textile Technology. The students are given education through both theoretical and practical classes. The college assesses the students by conducting internal assessment tests and model examinations regularly. For weaker students, the college conducts special classes and helps the students to improve their academic knowledge.
InfrastructureGomathi Ambal Polytechnic College is located on National Highway 208 and the campus provides a calm and pollution free environment. The campus has attractive buildings with separate classrooms and lecture halls. Separate well-equipped laboratories are available for each department and to gain more knowledge and practical experience, the students are given hands-on training during the practical sessions. The college library has large collection of books, periodicals and journals. The college canteen offers healthy and nutritious food to both the students and staffs. The college has ground and facilities for indoor and outdoor games. The college also provides transport facilities for the pickup and drop of the students.
ActivitiesEach and every department in the college organizes guest lectures, workshops and special training courses regularly. Other than the academics, the college also motivates the students to participate in social activities, sports and cultural events.
