About SRC The Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre [SRC], Kumbakonam, was inaugurated, in November 2000, by Prof. V. S. Ramamurthy, Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. The Various objectives of the centre are to conduct coaching classes for +2 students, establishment of a national monument for Srinivasa Ramanujan, offering degree programmes, etc. The centre at kumbakonam was also established with an objective to provide high quality higher education to the people of kumbakonam and nearby places. Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre in an area of 9 acres of land purchased is a magnificent edifice decorating the historic town of kumbakonam. This massive building has been constructed with modern classrooms, state-of-the-art computer lab, electronics lab, Museum on Ramanujan's life and work and other infrastructural facilities. The courses have been designed taking into consideration the students' feature and also requirements of the industry.
On 20th December, 2003 the President of India, His Excellency Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam dedicated the SRC to the nation and also the house in which Ramanujan lived in Kumbakonam which SASTRA had purchased and converted into an International Monument. H.E. also declared open the Srinivasa Ramanujan House of Mathematics [a museum on Srinivasa Ramanujan]. Honouring the Mathematics Legend, Srinivasa Ramanujan

SASTRA purchased the house where Srinivasa Ramanujan lived at Kumbakonam and renovated it. The President of India, His Excellency Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam has since declared it as an international Monument. *

SASTRA organizes an International Conference, every year, in honour of Srinivasa Ramanujan on various focal themes *
The first conference on “Number Theory for Secure Communications" was organized on 20th December 2003 . It was inaugurated by His Excellency, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, President of India. *
The second conference on “Number Theory and Fourier Techniques" was inaugurated by Dr. Alladi Krishnaswamy, Professor and Chair, Department of Mathematics, University of Florida , on 20th December 2004 .
