About D.A.V. (PG) College, Dehradun
D.A.V. (PG) College was founded in Dehradun in the year 1948 on the principles laid down by Swami Dayanand as well as the directions of Anglo Education System. It offers courses in various streams like Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Education, etc. It is accredited by NACC. It also provides Adult Education to eligible candidates. This college also has a study center of the well-known distance learning institute IGNOU and is imparting self-finance courses in areas like Journalism, Tourism, and B.Sc.(IT).
FacilitiesThe college is having good sports facilities for the all-round development of the students and keeping them physically fit. College also has many other activities like Rovers and Rangers, NCC, and NSS for exposing the students to social and environmental work as well as prepare them for the defense services especially those who want to serve in the Indian Army. Interested students can register in these extracurricular courses and derive the benefits therein.
AdmissionsThe candidate interested in taking admission in any of the courses offered by this college has to collect or get the admission application form and prospectus from the college by post. One should note that 90% of seats are reserved in most of the courses, except the professional ones, for the residents of Uttarakhand state and only 10% seats will be available to the outside candidates. The application form is to be filled completely giving all the details and copies of the following documents is to be attached before submitting it in the college or sending it by post to the college address -
- Photograph of the candidate.
- Affidavit for anti-ragging and police verification countersigned by the candidate and the parents.
- Caste certificate (wherever applicable).
- Certificate for date of birth like High School certificate.
- Mark sheet of qualifying examination as per the eligibility for the course chosen.
- Transfer certificate and character certificate froth earlier institute.
- Migration certificate.
- Admission fee is to be paid online as per the instructions given in the application form and prospectus.
The candidates will be called for a verification and counseling session and they have to produce all the original documents at that time and only after satisfactory verification of the same the final admission in the course sought would be given.
