About Deshbandhu College
Deshbandhu college is named after the freedom fighter Deshbandhu Gupta. The college has a very good faculty and a very healthy atmosphere. It offers courses in Humanities, Commerce and Science. It boasts of a huge library with computers.
Desh Bandhu College started its journey in the year 1952 in honour of Late Lala Deshbandhu Gupta (a freedom fighter) as an outcome of the efforts made by the Ministry of rehabilitation. It is now accredited with B++ grade by NAAC and is affiliated to the University of Delhi. The co-ed college offers various courses in the field of Commerce, Arts and Science.
Infrastructure and FacilitiesThe College has a huge campus occupied by separate blocks namely Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam block, Administrative Block, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar block. It also has spacious classrooms, advanced laboratories and an auditorium for lectures, presentations, and other occasions.
The library is big with an excellent collection of books. To avoid unnecessary rush, all the book details are available in digital format. It also has Electronic Resources in the Public Domain and uses DELNET for easier access. Talking about services, the library offers Circulation service, Audio service, Reference service, Syllabus Bank, and Book Bank service at no additional cost to the students. There are more than 1 lakh books including magazines, journals, etc, and a separate reading room. A separate room is also available for teachers and research scholars on another floor of the building. Computers with internet facilities are also available in the library.
The college has a Web Access Centre with around 80 computers. This center has access to the server provided by the University of Delhi that offers high-speed internet with optical fiber connectivity.
Apart from all the above-mentioned facilities, one can find a clean students room, a canteen providing hygienic food, a well-equipped gymnasium, a medical room with all kinds of first aid medical facilities, a big seminar hall, banking facility and a beautiful botanical garden within the campus.
AdmissionsAdmissions to the college are offered following the guidelines of the University of Delhi. For undergraduate courses, candidates get selected on the basis of merit or their performance in the entrance exam. Interested candidates need to register online at theadmission portal.
Please note that offline admission is not possible. After registration, the applicant receives a unique login ID through which all the procedures are needed to be done online. The applicant will get a call from the college at the end for verification purposes.
Below is the list of documents required for online registration-
- Scanned copy of class 10th certificate
- Scanned copy of class 12th certificate
- For admissions under the Sports or ECA category, self-attested copies of certificates are needed.
- Scanned copy of reservation certificate, if applicable.
- Scanned photo identity card is required. Aadhar Card, Voter identity card, driving license, or passport can be used.
- For admission to the music course, a link to the uploaded clip of your performance is required.
After uploading the documents, you need to pay the registration fee online, and only after that, your registration will be confirmed. For payment, the link will appear on the applicant dashboard and there is no other way to pay the registration fee.
Once the college announces the cut-off list, the applicant can choose the course as per their marks. After this, the verification of the documents will be done and the admission will be confirmed after paying the course fee.
