About Asansol Polytechnic College
Asansol Polytechnic is a very reputed Government polytechnic located at Asansol in Paschim(West) Barddhaman district of West Bengal. It was established in 1957 by the State Government of West Bengal. It is affiliated to West Bengal Council of Technical Education (WBCTE). The polytechnic is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In addition to the courses listed in the college page, the polytechnic also offers full-time Diploma courses in Metallurgical Engineering (intake: 60) and Mine Surveying (intake: 30). The college is co-educational.

Corse recognition All the courses are recognised by AICTE and WBSCTE.
Admission procedure Admission to three year Diploma courses is done through JEXPO examination conducted by WBCTE every year. In addition, ITI-qualified candidates can also take lateral admission in full-time and part-time courses.
Other facilities The college has modern facilities of laboratories, model display room, modern workshops in every department, foundries, library and canteen within the premises. Wi-fi facility is also available in the campus.
Placement cell Placement cell of Asansol Polytechnic is very active. It primarily works as a liaison between industry and the institute. Every year students of this Institute are recruited by various public sector & private sector companies like L&T, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, ECL., HCL, etc. As the polytechnic is located in industrial area of West Bengal and is also very near to the industrial belt of Jharkhand, most of the students manage to get employment through the Placement cell.
