Rajiv Gandhi Medical College & Hospital 
About college & Infrastructure:
The college is more commonly known as RGMC.
It is the only Government run medical college in Thane district.
Owned by Thane Municipal Corporation.
Established in 1992. It is relatively new.
Intake capacity is 60 therefore there is no much crowding in the classrooms as well as laboratories.
Library is large with a wide range of Medical Texts & Journals.
Building consists of three floors.
Ground floor & 1st floor consist of Hospital- OPD & Wards.
2nd & 3rd floor consist of College- Lecture halls & laboratories.
Academics:
All teaching faculty are Post Graduate Doctors & well experienced.
Having a Govt hospital attached makes it even better from academic point of view, during MBBS clinical postings lot of patient contact happens.
CMEs and case presentations are conducted on regular basis.
Regular Mid-term & semester examinations are conducted to review progress.
Post ending exams at the end of every posting help in evaluating oneself.
Students are encouraged to participate in various academic Seminars, Medi-exhibits, Quiz competitions, Research programs, short certificate courses etc.
Internship:
Internship in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital CSMH is a very good opportunity.
Hospital has a 24 hr casualty dept, 14 bedded ICU, Dialysis Unit, NICU, Major/Minor Operation Theater and various other departments.
One gets to learn and try various clinical procedures & also assist a few surgeries.
Hostel:
Hostel facility is provided for girls & boys in separate buildings.
Hostel capacity is limited and so preference is given to those candidates who reside farthest. Hostel rooms are spacious, clean and airy. Fees for hostel is nominal Rs.600/ 6 monthly.

Nearest bus stop is less than half a KM away.
Nearest railway station KALWA is about 2 KM away.
