About the College
Syed Abdul Rahiman BafakhyThangal Memorial Govt. College Koyilandy was started in 1975 and is commonly known as S.A.R.B.T.M college. It is affiliated with Calicut University and got accredited by NAAC with grade-B in 2007. This is the only Government College in the Koyilandi area and it is helping the educational needs of educationally backward people of this area. Many of the college students received a Ph.D. in different subjects like Physics, Malayalam, and commerce.
The campus & locationS.A.R.B.T.M college is located at Muchukunnu which is about 7 km northeast of Koyilandy town. The nearest Railway station is Koyilandi railway station which is only 2 KM away from the college and the nearest airport is Calicut International Airport which is 58 KM away from the college via NH66. The college campus is spread over 18 acres of land and most of the area was donated by local people who were interested in the educational progress of the locality. The campus is situated on the western bank of the Akalapuzha river which is adding the beauty of the college.
Courses and AdmissionThe college offers the UG and PG courses in different streams like arts, commerce, etc.
The Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) is followed for admission and is introduced by Calicut University. It is an online process to apply directly to the university by the students to reduce the admission process.
FacilitiesThe library is big stalked with many books and periodicals for the reference of students and teachers. All the major departments have separate departmental libraries with books, model question papers, old question papers, and schemes of evaluation.
All PG classrooms are having LCD Projectors and smart boards. The language departments are following the ICT-enabled teaching-learning process. There are separate laboratories for B.Sc. and M.Sc. Physics class. Computer lab facility is available for physics and commerce department.
There is a health and fitness center having all modern fitness equipment and an indoor sports room for playing many games. The college campus is also equipped with free Wi-Fi and a canteen offering hygienic food to students and staff.
