About Infant Jesus College of Engineering
Infant Jesus College of Engineering (IJCE) located at Keela Vallanadu, Tuticorin district is one of the prestigious engineering institutes in Southern Tamil Nadu. The college is managed by Infant Jesus Educational Trust (IJET). The institute focuses on delivering high quality professional education. The college is affiliated to Anna University and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi. IJCE has received an ISO 9001: 2008 certificate by DAS Certification Company Limited, UK. The college has good infrastructure, experienced faculty and a placement cell.
Academics IJCE offers both UG and PG courses. Totally 8 departments are operating in the college to provide professional education to the students in the various field of Engineering. The faculty from the department of Science and Humanities offers education in subjects like Technical English, Engineering Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. IJCE conducts internal test and evaluates the performance of the students. The Semester exams will be conducted by Anna University. Each and every department of the college conducts technical events, workshops, conferences and symposiums.
Infrastructure IJCE is spread over 64 acres of land and the campus is green and has buildings and blocks. The campus is surrounded by Vallanadu hills. The college campus gives a friendly learning environment to the students. The college has smart classrooms, seminar halls, central computing center and health center. Each and every department that is operating in the college has well equipped with latest and modern equipment to gain the practical knowledge in the field of engineering. The college campus has 24 hours internet connectivity and the students can access internet through laptops. IJCE has generator set, STD booth and ATM. The college canteen provides healthy food, snacks, meals and beverages on all working days. The central library of the college has wide volume of books, national journals, international journals and periodicals. The students are allowed to access e-journals and e-learning materials that are available in the digital knowledge center available in the library. The library offers services like reprography service, reference service, lending service, IEEE student access, etc.
IJCE has transport facilities and hostel facilities. Separate hostel is available for men and women students with well furnished rooms, mess, recreation facilities, internet connectivity, stationery stores, reading rooms, gym and phone facility. The college has playground and facilities for gym, indoor games and athletics.
Activities IJCE has separate units for NSS, RRC and NCC. The students are involved in the NSS activities such as Blood donation camp, anti-tobacco cycle rally, AIDS awareness programme and conducts medical camp in the rural areas. Annual Training camp is being conducted every year for the Army wing NCC unit. The college celebrates Independence Day, Onam, Republic day, Pongal and Christmas every year by conducting cultural events and activities.
