Gharda Institute of Technology works under the Gharda Foundation which was established in the year 1996 as a non-profit philanthropic organization committed to the rural development of India. The foundation established the Gharda Institute of Technology in the year 2007-08 in Khed, Ratnagiri.
The institute has good infrastructure and offers facilities like laboratories with modern equipment, three hostels each having separate messes, a centralized computer center, an eLearning Resource center to enable learning and teaching through the use of intranet, language labs to develop interpersonal and intrapersonal skills in English, medical facility, transport facility, gymkhana with full-time sports instructor, and a co-operative store where cosmetics, stationaries, edible items, etc are available.
Gharda Institute of Technology offers undergraduate programs in disciplines like chemistry. mechanical, computer, civil, electronics & telecommunication, and computer science engineering.
