About the collegeKhallikote College is also known as Native College, Berhampur among its students. It's an autonomous college affiliated to Berhampur University. Initially it was Zilla school which came into existence in 1846 and got elevated to Intermediate College in 1878. The meduim of instruction is English. Rajah of Khallikote donated 16.5 acres of land for the building and infrastructure of the college and as a gesture; it was renamed as Khallikote College in 1893. It was under the management of K.C.Trust and in 1944 the college was upgraded as a Degree college. It was taken over by the Government of Odisha in 1971 and gave the status of autonomy was conferred in 1990.
The institution grew in respect of student strength, teaching facilities and quality of education from year to year and now the strength of the college is around 5000 with 18 Departments and six self-financing programmes.
RecognitionThis college is approved by UGC and accorded the status CPE (College with Potential Excellence) in May 2006 and got the NAAC accreditation with B+ grade in 2003.
LocationIts location in Berhampur city makes it very easily accessible for the students from Chatrapur, Ganjam, Aska, Gopalpur in Odisha and Ichapuram, Sompet and Srikakulam of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
Former President V V Giri, Former Chief Justice of Orissa Lingaraj Panigrahi and former Minister Brindban Naik were the alumini of this great college.
The campusThe college campus is extended over an area of 16.75 Acres. The demand for admission in this college is more because of the infrastructure and hostel facilities. There are 19 departments covering all the areas which include new subjects like Bio-technology, Anthropology, Sociology and Financial Control.

Admission ProcessAdmission to normal graduate courses is based on the performance and merit list of Intermediate while the self-financing programmes like BBA and BCA, the entry level is through a common entrance test. For all PG courses, students are given admission through an entrance examination conducted by the Odisha common entrance Test. Fees structure for all courses is nominal other than the self-financing programmes.
The FacultyThe faculty in the Khallikote College is well known for high degree of knowledge sharing. The Lecturers are highly qualified with Doctorate/M.Phil degrees. Lab facilities
There are 16 laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Bio-technology, Statistics, Mathematics, and Computer Science to cover the practical experience in the allied fields of these subjects in the Science Block. There is one computer centre in the college equipped with broadband internet connection. The entire campus has the facility for internet connectivity with a provision for central computing facility and all the faculty-members and other staff has free access to it.
The library and reading roomThe library of Khalikote College is one of the oldest and best libraries in India. A collection of more than one lakh books for the need of the students makes this library prominent. All General Knowledge Magzines and Computer related circulations are subscribed for the benefit of the students. A very big reading room welcomes the readers with all daily news papers and magazines.
Sports FacilitiesThe college has a dedicated sports hall with all playing kits and a sports hall to cater indoor games such as table tennis, carom etc. A large play ground for playing Cricket, Foot ball, volley ball and other games.
Canteen and hostel facilities
The college canteen provides facilities for Tea, snacks, Breakfast and lunch for faculty and students at nominal rates. The college also provides hostel facilities to boys and girls. Two blocks are meant for boys while two blocks namely Rani Jhansi Ladies hostel and SV PG Girls' hostels are meant for girls.
