This is a government medical college. There are three other government medical colleges in the city along with this one, among which one is new and others are pretty old and well known colleges, namely, Madras Medical college, Stanley Medical college and Kilpauk Medical college. The locality is very nice, which includes good connectivity and transportation. However, the college campus is very small. The hospital is across the road and unlike the college, the hospital is pretty huge. In terms of studies, the college is pretty good. It has good and experienced faculties.
In terms of infrastructure, this college is well behind it's contemporaries and this has to be improved. The facilities in the college includes a canteen and an auditorium which are are also pretty good. Kilpauk Medical college has separate boys and girls hostels. It also has a ground with a basketball court and a volleyball court.

| Very good infrastructure at Government Kilpauk Medical College
The campus facilities for students at Government Kilpauk Medical College are awesome. The various labs are very good and overall infrastructure is good though cleanliness can be improved upon generally. The students are also getting quality education from the teachers who are professionals In their respective fields.
