About Anjuman Teachers' Training Institute
The constitutional obligation under Article 45 and 46 is to provide free and compulsory basic education (Primary Education) to all sections of society free of cost. This covers the age-group 6-14. This in fact is a problem group and needs a perfect professional to handle the various situations.
Teaching, it has been said, is not mere talking. This is so because teaching requires conscious organization of learning activities, deliberate creation of a conducive and supporting learning environment. While providing learning experiences, a teacher has to constantly analyse and evaluate classroom climate and evolve a suitable plan of action to achieve the pre-specified desirable change in the behaviours of a group of learners, who are constantly varying with respect to their interest and understanding speed.
Teaching cannot be learnt in a year or so. A person willing to take up this profession has to study for a number of years and acquire a mastery over the contents of the subjects matter. After this, he has to undergo training in teaching. This training extends to a period of two years and may be followed by internee ship.
This training aims in achieving the following objectives:
To imbibe the knowledge and develop an understanding of various methods and approaches of organizing learning experiences of primary school students.
To develop skills required in selecting and organizing learning experiences.
To understand the nature of the learning process.
To develop skills involved in selecting, developing and using evaluation tools.
The government of Karnataka has issued in December 2004, a no objection certificate in favour of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen for starting pre-service training for appointment as Primary School teachers, subject to recognition of National Council for Teacher Education with and intake of 50 students. The council has accorded its recognition to Anjuman Teacher Training Institution at Bhatkal for conducting Diploma in Education Course of two years duration, from the academic year 2007-08.
