About Goverment Law College
Government law college, Madurai was established in 1974. The institution is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai and it offers education to the students in the field of constitution law and human rights. It is a co-educational institution. The main aim of the college is to provide aspiring lawyers to the society. The students who have passed out from this institution are working as judges, public prosecutors and legal officers. The institution has a group of talented and experienced faculty members.
Infrastructure The college campus provides Eco-friendly environment to the students. The campus has large buildings, ventilated classrooms, moot-court hall and seminar hall for the development of the legal studies. The college library has many books and journals related to the legal studies. The students of the institution are provided with hostel facilities and mess. The RO water plant which is present inside the campus supplies hygienic water. The college also has large playground for sports and games.
Academics and Activities The college offers 5 year UG courses on B.A., B.L degree and 3 year UG course on B.L degree. In addition to the UG courses, the college also offers 2 year full time P.G course on M.L degree on Property law.
To develop the skills and the talent, the students are also encouraged to participate in cultural activities, NSS activities, Moot court competitions, sports, games and other activities, events and competitions.
