B.H College was established in the year 1964 by Jadab Chandra Das. The college received UGC recognition in the year 1969. The college opened it commerce stream in 1976 which was followed by the opening of the science stream in 1988. The current principal of the college is Dr. B.C. Pathak. The college provides various facilities from hostel, auditorium, well-equipped laboratories, modern classroom and many more.

BH College-One of the pioneer college in Assam 3 out of 5

BH College stands for Barpeta Road-Howly College.The college is situated in between Barpeta Road and Howly Town,so college name derived from here. BH college was established in the Year 1966,a leading college under Gauhati University in Assam. The college runs all the three stream-Arts,Science and commerce.But it has seen that this college is very much famous for commerce stream.Because if you go for statistics,the college performed very well in commerce section during last few year continuously.People of Assam always think that Guwahati Commerce College is No-1 in Assam for commerce Education,but BH College is proving it wrong every year with its results. Apart from commerce,Arts stream is also good here.but Science stream is yet to improve from faculties point of view.But in last year PUC result,Students got ranks from this college in Science stream. Overall,its a good college in Assam,especially in lower Assam region.
