Patel Memorial National College at Rajpura was established in the 1966 in memory of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, popularly known as Loh Purush of India or "The Iron Man of India". The college offers various courses in Arts, Commerce, Science, Journalism, Music, Computer Science.
Patel Memorial National College was started in the year 1966 in a small building in Rajpura. It was established in the memory of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. The college is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala. Regarding its location, the main campus is situated in Rajpura at a distance of 3 km from Gagan Chawk and the Rajpura railway station is around 1.5 km from the campus.
InfrastructureThe College has developed a lot since its inception and has all the facilities required to deliver excellent learning. It has an automated and well-stocked library. It is fully air-conditioned and has a collection of around 32,000 books, magazines, and other reading materials. The library has internet facilities and e-journal subscriptions. Apart from the main library, there are separate departmental libraries with books related to IT and management.
There are 3 computer labs in the college with advanced computers with LAN facility and internet. Students can access the internet, printers, and scanner facility at reasonable charges.
An advanced media lab with all the required equipment, including, camera and editing devices is available in the college. Students get to learn about audiovisual recording and editing.
A separate language lab with headphones, computers and other required equipment is available for the students to improve their language skills.
The auditorium at the college accommodates around 500 people at a time. It is also addressed as Auditorium cum Gymnasium because it is having the advanced sound and mike systems with proper stage required for an auditorium and also has facilities for indoor games. It is used for conducting various cultural activities and other functions. A conference hall and a Patel hall are also available for conducting various indoor activities including guest lectures.
Patel-Fitness center is the center of attraction for this college. The center has all the advanced gym equipment and is fully air-conditioned. It also has an experienced trainer to guide the students. A clean, hygienic canteen is available in the college with adequate sitting area and a long list of healthy food items on the menu. Students can use this facility at very reasonable rates.
For students staying far from the college, there is a transport facility available with pre-decided pick-up and drop points for students.
The college has facilities for uninterrupted power supply. An RO water purification plant provides hygienic drinking water. The college has an underground parking facility with full security. It can be used by both staff members as well as the students at no additional cost.
