About Rabindra Mahavidyalaya
Rabindra Mahavidyalaya has been founded in the year 1961 and on the memorable birth-centenary of Rabindranath Tagore.
Champadanga is an affluent village in Hooghly District and it is under the Tarakeswar Block.
The idea has been to foster the growth of a good many number of students, who mainly hail from the community of local peasantry to aid them with the opportunity of overcoming rural backwardness so that they can make glorious marks at various levels of the university examination.
Besides offering 17 Honours courses, Rabindra Mahavidyalaya, Champadanga also offers a large number of general courses to bring up the local talents.
The College has got an excellent 14 acres campus area including pond, play ground, Eco-friendly, green and open spaces to offer an ideal teaching - learning ambiance.
The college has got an excellent library and well equipped laboratories.
Rabindra Mahavidyalaya also offers NSS & NCC opportunities. The College has got an excellent playground, Gymnasium and facilities for various indoor games also.
Besides its remarkable results in the University examination, the College has been able to maintain a good track record in games and sports also.
