About the school Guru Gobind Singh College, Sanghera started in 1972 and is affiliated with Punjabi University at Patiala. Currently, it is working as a Punjab Government aided college and is accredited with grade"B" by NAAC. It is situated in Barnala-Ludhiana Road at a distance of 2 km from Barnala. At present, the college has the strength of around 3000 students with the faculties of Computer Science, and Arts and other professional courses. Apart from academics, it also has the smooth functioning of the National Cadet Corps and National Service Scheme and issues a college magazine once in a year. Also, the college has a computer laboratory, central library cum-reading room with a book bank for students, sports facilities, rovers & rangers, career guidance cell and financial assistance cell for meritorious as well as financially poor and backward students. The computer lab is fully air-conditioned and also has an internet facility. Also, to provide the latest trends in education, the authorities are arranging conferences, symposium, seminars, and workshops at regular intervals in the college. Sardar Gurdev Singh Memorial Stadium is widespread in four acres and fully equipped with all kinds of games and the Annual Athletic Meet is organized by the college.
