About Baba Moni Ji College of Nursing
Baba Moni Ji College of Nursing, Bhatinda, Punjab was established in the year 2007 and offers courses in B.Sc. (Nursing), Diploma in Nursing, and Auxiliary Nurse & Midwife (ANM) programme. The college is managed by Harmander Singh Ji Education Society. The institute is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, and the State Govt of Punjab. The college is affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Punjab.
FacilitiesFully furnished classrooms are available for the students. Each room is having its own LCD and overhead projector.
The college is having a library having a large collection of books, magazines, journals, audio, and video CDs, reference books, and specific books related to nursing and health care. For retrieval of educational information, a digital information retrieval system is in place and students can use that facility to quickly locate the desired information.
For the practical training of the students in the field of human anatomy, there is an Anatomy Lab in the college where students acquire detailed learnings related to human anatomy and its working.
To teach the students about various nursing and medical equipment, there is one Nursing Foundations Lab where the students learn to use these equipment for effective healthcare of the patients.
Nutrition during illness as well as during the recovery phase is an essential component of nursing education and to achieve this objective the college has a Nutrition Lab where the students learn about normal and therapeutic diet and how to prepare nutritive food for the hospitals.
College is also having a Maternal and Child Health Care Lab where the students are taught about the health of the mother and newborn child and also learn about the various equipment and apparatus used in the gynaecological work.
Another lab that is Community and Health Nursing Lab is available in the college for imparting skills and knowledge in the field of community and health nursing. In addition to the community health issues, the students are also taught about the drugs which can be prescribed for minor ailments. These drugs are generally available in the market without a doctor's prescription.
There is a canteen in the college where hygienic tea, coffee, and snacks are available and students can go to the canteen in their spare time.
For transportation of students to and fro the city, the college is having owned a fleet of buses which ply daily between select points in the city to college and back to the city.
The hostel is available for the outstation students and rooms are allotted on a twin sharing basis. The capacity of the hostel is about 100 students. Study table with chair, bed, and mattress, etc are provided to each resident. The mess facility is there for tea, snacks, and food at fixed timings. Security is also provided in the hostel round the clock.
AdmissionsThe candidates have to appear in the entrance examination as advertised by the University for the annual admissions in the nursing courses. Based on merit the candidates would be selected for admission to the various courses. (Nursing) course of 4 years duration is 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission. The candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks in 10+2 in the science stream (PCB) with English as a core or elective subject.
The minimum age eligibility for the 3-1/2 years duration General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course is 17 years. The candidates should have passed in 10+2 with at least 45% marks in the science stream (PCB). Those who have completed 10+2 vocational ANM courses are also eligible to apply for this course.
There is no age limit for the 2 years duration Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) course. The candidates should have a pass in 10+2 level with at least 45% marks. - Umesh
