About Suran college of nursing
Suran College of Nursing was established by the Pimasugan educational trust at Rajapalayam. The founder of the college is Dr.Kuwait Raja, a philanthropist. The institution prepares nursing students by providing high quality education and training on clinical practices. Suran college of Nursing is exclusively for females and is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and the state nursing council of Tamil Nadu. The college concentrates more on problem solving techniques in nursing and creates awareness among the students about health. The college has experienced faculties. The faculties of the institution are involved in both teaching and clinical supervision. The college provides clinical training in Government Hospital and in a multi-speciality hospital.
Academics Suran College of Nursing offers B.Sc Nursing Programme. The duration of the programme is 4 years. The college follows the syllabus as prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council and the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University.
Curriculum: First Year: Anatomy, Physiology, Nutrition, Biochemistry, Nursing foundation, Psychology, Microbiology, English, Introduction to Computer
Second Year: Medical Surgical Nursing- I, Community Health Nursing-I, Communication and Education technology, Sociology, pharmacology, Pathology, Genetics
Third Year: Medical Surgical Nursing- II, Child health nursing, mental health nursing, Midwifery and Obstetrical Nursing
Fourth Year: Midwifery and Obstetrical Nursing, Community Health Nursing-II, Nursing Research & Statistics, Management of Nursing, Services and Education
Facilities The college is built on an area of 38,355 Sq.ft with tall and wide buildings as per the norms of Indian Nursing Council. The institution has well-furnished, spacious and ventilated classrooms. The classrooms are provided with LCD installation, OHP, Audio and Visual equipment. The college has large library with many medical, paramedical books, periodicals and journals. The institution has well equipped laboratories for Nutrition, Community, MCH, Anatomy and Microbiology. Separate computer lab with internet facility is also available for the students. A placement cell is operating in the college for the employment of the students. The college has safe transport and hostel facilities for the students. The hostel rooms are spacious and safe with necessary furniture. The hostel offers healthy and hygienic food to the students. The college has generator facilities. The college campus also has telephone facilities, stationery and canteen.
