One of the best Veterinary college! 
Popularly known as Veterinary College, this college is one of the best and the popular college for animal husbandry.
One of my uncle had pursued a bachelors degree from this college. I have been to this college also. The college premises is evergreen. I really liked the greenery all around. The teachers are very talented. Dr Narayan Singh was there, very popular among students. He was in 1968 batch and according to him the college started in a small one room shed in 1962. Now there is a big building. Being a completely residential university, hostels for boys and girls, and residential facilities for teachers/Scientists, and supporting staff, have been provided in the campus.
Well, Ranchi Veternary College comes under the Birsa Agricultural University(BAU) which was established on 26th June, 1981 after its formal inauguration by the then Prime Minister of India, Late Smt. Indira Gandhi whose primary objective is developing area specific technologies and manpower in the field of agriculture, animal husbandry and forestry for the agricultural development of the plateau region.
The university provided merit and merit-cum-means scholarship @ of Rs 350/- and Rs. 300/- per month respectively to under-graduate students of all the three faculties viz. Agricultural / Veterinary Science & A. H. and Forestry. The scholarship has been awarded to 10% students of the intake capacity. After completion of the graduate course requirements, the students of veterinary science underwent intensive internship programme for 6 months.
The students avail the facility of Railway Concession. It means students availed railway concession for home going during semester break/vacation and also Post-graduate students availed railway concession for going to other institutions for collection of reference material for their research work.
