About Malabar College of Engineering and TechnologyMalabar College of Engineering and Technology (MCET), an autonomous engineering college in Kerala is situated at Deshamangalam, Trichur District, Kerala. It is managed by IQRA Educational and Charitable Trust.
There are undergraduate courses (B.Tech) and postgraduate courses (M.Tech) in MCET. Students get admission to B.Tech courses on the basis of the scores in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) / Common Entrance Test -Kerala(CET – K) / Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET). The marks obtained in the higher secondary examination will also be taken into consideration for admission.
Infrastructure facilitiesThe library in the MCET is so spacious. There are separate reading rooms for staff and students. Around 150 students can sit and read in this library at a time.
There are two hostels in Malabar College of Engineering and Technology. The boys' hostel can accommodate over 200 students. In each room, a maximum of three members is allowed. The boy's hostel has a badminton court, a soccer field and a table tennis table for students. Girls' hostel can accommodate more than 400 members. The mess hall is very spacious and well furnished. There is a good study hall in the girl's hostel and is well secured.
The canteen in this college is worth mentioning. The students can have healthy and tasty vegetarian food from the college canteen. Idli, dosa, paratha, puri, fried rice, vada, and noodles are the items provided by the canteen.
One of the specialties of this college is the playground. The playground is very wide and well equipped. There are facilities to play football, volleyball, and basketball. The students of MCET usually participate in intercollegiate competitions.
In MCET there are about 15 college buses doing services to the help of students and teachers. Among total students, 60% of the students are utilizing bus facilities.
