The college is now well furnished and it has hard working staff members which put their best efforts for students.The college is now having 3 water coolers which give fresh and chilled water in summers and normal water in winters.The ground is now having more than 100 flower pots.Now many placements companies come to college and recruit students.Now teen shade is also provided by the principal for protecting from sunlight in summers.Canteen is now well developed and all food product are available in the canteen.Now special facility i.e sms for students which are far away from college is developed.It give all necessary information to students on mobile.
National Post Graduate College, Lucknow was established in the year 1974. It offers various UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate courses to eligible candidates. It also conducts UG and PG skill development programmes under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Kendra (DDUKK) created with a special grant from University Grants Commission (UGC). The skill-based programmes cover banking, insurance, financial services, and some other areas. The college is having study centers affiliated with IGNOU, New Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU), Allahabad.
FacilitiesThe college is having adequate laboratory facilities pertaining to various subjects and there is one auditorium with a seating capacity of 800. Staff rooms and common rooms are made available for the staff and students. For physically disabled students proper ramps and elevators are installed. Braille display and scanning facilities are available for visually challenged students.
The college is having a library where a large number of books, Journals, Periodicals, News Paper, Employment News, and Competitive Study Material are available for reference and study for the students. Audio visual, computer, photocopying, and printout facilities are provided in the library. Web resources are available through the internet. There is a section for research scholars and teachers for referring to advanced materials.
There are good sports and game facilities in the college and dedicated faculty and staff are there to guide the students. Students are motivated to take part in various sports and also participate in the tournament in indoor as well as outdoor games as per their proficiencies. Regular sports meets and tournaments are organised in the college and the selected students go to participate in the outside events also.
For the outside students as well as other needy students there are two hostels in the college one for the boys (capacity 100) and the other for the girls (capacity 165). The hostels are having all the modern facilities like Internet access, Air-conditioned Rooms, Generator Support, Photocopier machine, Water cooler with purifier, Geysers, Meditation rooms, Cultural hall, Common reading area, Common rooms with televisions, Gymnasium, Yoga Centre, Badminton court, Indoor games, Mess, CCTV security, Medical facilities, Furnished guest house for the parents/Guardian.
The college is having National Cadet Corps (NCC) programme and students are encouraged to join in during their stay in the college. They get basic military training and after successful completion of the course and earning the specific NCC certificates are entitled to apply in the armed forces as well as in some Govt positions getting some preference in the selection. During the NCC training they undergo various activities like Annual training camps, D.G organized camps conducted by U.P Directorate, D.G. organized camps conducted by office Directorates, Trekking Expeditions, Boat pulling and sailing expeditions, Attachment with Army Navy and Air, Republic Day Camp, etc.
For inculcating responsibility to the society around us there is NSS (National Service Scheme) scheme followed by the college and there are two units of Girls and one unit of Boys operating. These students undergo many activities like Adoption of villages and slums for cleanliness and literacy drives, Environmental conservation, AIDS Awareness programme, Health and Immunisation / Participation in pulse polio drive, Organisation of Exhibitions, Winter Relief / Cold relief / Flood Relief activities, Training of Programme Officers, etc.
There is a unit of Scouts and Guides in the college and they undertake various activities leading to learnings of discipline and determination in their lives and serving the poor. Every year the college arranges the rally of Rovers and Rangers. Scout camps are also organized from time to time.
The college publishes some magazines and e-brochures on a regular basis where ideas and thoughts of the students are shared. This is a good medium for the students to showcase their writing talents. Every month ‘Insight' magazine is published while the annual magazine ‘Abhivyakti' is published once a year.
There is a spacious and well-furnished canteen on the college campus which provides good dishes and snacks items to the staff and students at a subsidized rate.
AdmissionsThe candidates are advised to go through the prospectus available on the college website (https://npgc.in) before making an online application for admission. Normally the time for applying for admissions is April to June every year. The interested candidates have to first register on the site and then fill out the application form by giving all the required details and uploading the documents required. Candidates should note that all the original documents will be required at the time of counseling/admission failing which admission would not be valid. Candidates who have applied online would be informed of the entrance test wherever applicable. Candidates should check the details of eligibility criteria on the school website for the course they are planning to apply for admission. For each UG / PG course, the qualifying exam and percentage required for applying are mentioned there. There are two entrance tests through which candidates are taken for admission to UG courses -
- LUACCET (Lucknow University Associated Colleges Common Entrance Test) - for B.Com. and B.Sc. (Mathematics Group).
- LUACMAT (Lucknow University Associated Colleges Management Admission Test) - for B.A.J.M.C., B.B.A., B.B.A.- MS., B.B.A.- Tourism, B.C.A., B.Com.- Hons., B.Voc.(Software Development & e-Governance), and B.Voc. (Banking & Finance).
Documents required for admission to UG courses are:
- Pass in Class X and XII and their Certificates and mark sheets.
- Character Certificate from the Institution from where the candidate passed his/her last examination as a regular candidate. Applicants who passed their last examination as private candidates should submit a recent Character Certificate from the Superintendent of Police / District Magistrate / Gazetted Officer.
- Reserved category candidates should submit their caste certificates.
- Candidates who qualify in the entrance exam have to attend the counseling session along with their parents/Guardian.
