About Government Girls' College, Khargone
Government Girls College, the only girls college of Khargone, was established in 17th Oct. 1984 with 21 students of arts faculty. At present it has been affiliated to Devi Ahilya VishwaVidyalaya, Indore. The college was recognized under 2f and 12B by UGC in Oct. 1992.
The college has a huge campus of approx. 7 acres and has 14 departments.
The college has a highly qualified 10 permanent faculty members with two teachers having Ph.D. degree and two teachers having M.Phil. Degree as highest qualification
The college provides education in UG level in three faculties Arts, Science and Home Science and PG level in two faculties Arts & Social work. Six subjects in Science faculty at graduate level. There are seven subjects in arts faculty at graduate level and two subjects, sociology & social work, in postgraduate level. In Home science faculty at graduate level. During the session 724 regular students studied in the college. The college provided facilities to approximate 500 students to appear as private candidate at the university examination of the year 2007-07. 618 of 634 students appeared as regular candidates for university examination.
In the year 2006-07, 571 regular students appeared for the annual university examination at UG & 47 students at PG level. The percentage of successful students in UG classes was 80% and in the PG classes was 77%.
