About Dr. T. Thimmaiah Institute of Technology

Dr. T. Thimmaiah Institute of Technology, formerly known as Golden Valley Institute of Technology, was started in the year 1986 at KGF by Dr. T. Thimmaiah Ph.D (London), IAS (Retd), as the founder president under the aegis of Golden Valley Educational Trust, with the sole purpose of imparting quality technical education to all and especially downtrodden people of this backward region. This trust also runs KGF First Grade College, KGF PU College & KGF Law College. The college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), in Karnataka and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Average college with average teaching 3 out of 5

I have many of my friends who have studied in this college and it is a quite good college. It has a good infrastructure and good environment. Though there are not much placement facilities provided in the college, they give placement assistance and have also helped students in getting placed. Teaching has to be improved and lecturers are partial towards students. They trouble students during project submission and seminars and give them extra work. But there are some lecturers who are good, having good understanding towards students and are also helping. Overall, the experience of students depends on the faculty and department.
